About 20 came for community meeting to hear a presentation (see below), gather, converse, and break bread together.

Speaker :Joe Minnicozzi

Presentation – “Moving Toward the Ideal Neighborhood,” a multi-media presentation that highlights ways that neighborhoods can work together to create more livable communities.  Joe is a certified City Planner and President of the Coalition of Asheville Neighborhoods (CAN).

 

Joe presented an informative and imaginative presentation about neighborhoods.

Human Scale- what is planned for 8 year old will work for 80 year old

City is made up of a series of neighborhoods

Useable open space in important- examples shown

 

Importance of safety

 

Listen to you feet- what can you walk to?

First obligation of all building is to place itself in relationship to the city
