Recap of meeting - June 8, 2008
How Compassionate Communication Can Help Intentional Communities Make Decisions More Effectively, Resolve Conflict, Create Heart-To-Heart Connections
• Transform judgment and criticism into understanding and connection
• Listen in a way where others are really heard
• Get what you want more often without using demands, guilt or shame
• Hear the needs behind whatever anyone does or says
• Move beyond power struggles to cooperation and trust
Our presenters: Jerry Donoghue with the Asheville Compassionate Communication Center (www.ashevilleccc.com) along with Kim Tolomei ~ Pathways to the Heart, an experiential demonstration of the Compassionate Communication model.
Jerry lead an exercise with the group of 25 assembled at Grace Episcopal Church on Sunday afternoon. We can now take what we have learned about this adaptation of Non Violent Communication into our community and our lives.
